SAN ANGELO, Texas – Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was taken down in their first contest of the season against the Rambelles of Angelo State University by a final score of 6-0.

At The Dish

The K Zone
  • Brittany Olender (0-1) started in the circle for the black-and-red as she went 2.0 innings giving up three hits, three earned runs, and striking out one batter.
  • Madison Garza made a relief appearence as she threw 3.2 innings giving up two earned runs on four hits, and struck out one as well.
  • Finally Karly Murray entered the game to throw 0.1 innings and facing two hitters.

Game Changer
  • The Rangers comitted two errors early in the game which was a difference maker as the Rambelles finished with zero on the day.
  • Angelo State out hit Northwestern during the match-up as well, 7-4.

  • This was Head Coach Charlie Zeilman debut game as Northwestern's head softball coach.

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was taken down in their second match-up of the day by the Grizzlies of Adams State University, 6-2.

At The Dish

K-Zone
  • Jalena Arthur began the game in the circle for the Rangers and was able to go 5.1 total innings giving up four earned runs on three hits while striking out two.
  • Madison Garza would come in on relief, pitching a total of 0.2 innings as she gave up two earned runs on three hits and struck out one.
  • Karly Murray pitched the final inning of the match-up facing three batters and retiring the side as well.

Game Changer
  • Adams State tallied four total errors in this game against Northwestern, but a huge six run inning late in the game saw them propel themselves into the driver's seat to claim the victory overall.

Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will continue their road campaign in San Angelo, Texas as they will face Texas A&M - International and Angelo State each on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. / 12:45 p.m.
