Rangers Split Doubleheader Against Oklahoma Baptist

Leading Off - Game One
Score: Oklahoma Baptist 4 - Northwestern 7
Records: OKB (6-16, 4-11 GAC) - Northwestern (4-21, 2-13 GAC)
Location: Alva Rec Complex - Alva, Okla.

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball took down Great American Conference adversary Oklahoma Baptist in the first game of the series Saturday afternoon by a final score of 7-4.

At The Dish

Leading the Ranger offensive attack was Peyton Garrett who finished the game going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs scored, and a triple.
Stephanie Couser added a 1-for-3 effort as she kick started the offense with a homerun, two runs scored, and one RBI.
Taylor Watham provided a spark as well with a pinch hit double that drove in two runs as well.

The K Zone

Madison Garza started off in the circle for the black-and-red as she threw 5.1 innings giving up three earned runs on four hits and struck out four batters.
Both Erin Norrie and Karly Murray came on to finish the game off in relief appearances to pitch the final 1.2 innings as well.

Game Changer

Defense definitely played its role in this contest as the Bison committed four total errors and the Rangers committed two errors as well.

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated in their second match-up of the day against conference foe Oklahoma Baptist by a final score of 5-1.

At The Dish

Guiding the Northwestern offensive unit was Madison McGraw who finished 2-for-3 on the day, adding a stolen base to her stat line.
Jordan Haya provided the lone RBI for the black-and-red as she went 1-for-3 at the plate. Haya also recorded a stolen base in the game as well.
Alexis Hayes contributed the other Ranger hit in the contest along with scoring one run.

The K Zone

Madison Garza started game two for the Rangers as well, throwing 5.1 innings allowing four earned runs, eight hits, and recorded one strikeout.
Karly Murray came on to pitch the final 1.2 innings in the game allowing zero runs, on zero hits and struck out two.

Game Changer

The Bison were able to move their runners around the bases in key moments during this match-up as the Rangers were unable to put multiple runs on the board.
Defensive saw its part once again in this contest as the Rangers committed two errors in the field.

Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will face GAC opponent Oklahoma Baptist in a doubleheader to conclude the series on Sunday, March 20, with the game to starting at 1 p.m. at the Alva Rec Complex in Alva, Okla.
