Leading Off - Game One

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated in the first match-up of the afternoon against Great American Conference opponent Oklahoma Baptist by a final score of 3-1.

At The Dish
  • Leading the Rangers offensive charge in game one was Jordan Haya who finished 2-for-3 with one RBI and one double. 
  • Lacey Hudson and Megan Sanders each recorded one hit a piece as well in the contest.
     
The K Zone
  • Madison Garza started off in the circle for the Rangers going the distance as she pitched all 7.0 innings giving up six total hits, three earned runs, and struck out four total.

Game Changer
  • Defense came into play once again between these two teams as the Rangers committed one error in the field compared to the Bison's two. 
  • Northwestern also left a total of seven runners on base which attributed to OKB being able to claim the win.

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was able to take down Oklahoma Baptist in conference play Sunday afternoon, by a score of 4-2, in the second match-up of the day to even the weekend series with the Bison at 2-2. 

At The Dish
  •  Peyton Garrett provided a solid day offensively as she went 1-for-2 in the second game with two RBIs and one sacrifice fly. Garrett's single in the bottom of the fourth inning that brought home two runs ultimately proved to be the game winner in the match-up.
  •  Jordan Haya had a second productive afternoon at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one triple. 
  • Stephanie Couser, Amber Mills, and Madison McGraw each recorded a double in game two and each scored one run as well. 
     
The K Zone
  • Karly Murray started in the circle for the black-and-red and was able to throw the complete game, going 7.0 innings in the contest, giving up six hits, zero earned runs, and recorded seven total strikeouts.
     
Game Changer
  • The solid ptiching from Murray and the ability to come up with big hits in crucial moments were the keys for the Rangers in this contest as they were able to finish the weekend series with Oklahoma Baptist at 2-2.
     


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will take on GAC foe Southern Nazarene University in a doubleheader on Friday, March 25, with the game to starting at 2 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.
