BETHANY, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was taken down by Great American Conference foe Southern Nazarene in game one of a doubleheader by a final score of 9-1 in six innings. 

At The Dish
  • Guiding the Northwestern offense in game one was Stephanie Couser who finished 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
  • Megan Sanders, Jordan Haya, and Madison McGraw each recorded one hit a piece in the contest as well. Haya tacked on a stolen base to her stat line also. 
     
The K Zone
  • Madison Garza began in the circle for the Rangers and went a total 1.2 innings giving up six hits, six earned runs, and one walk.
  • Erin Norrie came in on relief throwing 3.2 innings giving up three earned runs on four hits. 

Game Changer
  • The biggest factor in this first match-up was total runners left on base by each team as the Crimson Storm left four total on compared to the Northwestern's 10 total runners left on base. 
  • SNU also out hit the Rangers in this game as the home team recorded 10 total hits compared to the black-and-red's five.

BETHANY, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated in their second match-up of the day against the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene by a final score of 8-4. 


At The Dish
The K Zone
  • Madison Garza started in the circle for the black-and-red once again as she threw 4.0 total innings and gave up six earned runs on five hits and five walks. 
  • Karly Murray would come on in for relief in game two and threw 2.0 total innings giving up two earned runs on four hits and was able to strike out two batters. 
     
Game Changer
  • The deciding difference maker in this conference match-up was the fact that SNU was able to drive in runs throughout the game as these two squads ended with similar numbers with leaving runners on base. 
     


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will take on GAC opponent and arch rival Southwestern Oklahoma State in a doubleheader, Tuesday March 29, with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. in Weatherford, Okla.
