Rangers Defeated in Doubleheader against Blossoms

MONTICELLO, ARK. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was taken down in their first contest of the day against the Blossoms of Arkansas-Monticello on the road Sunday afternoon, 3-0.

At The Dish
  • Guiding the Ranger offense was Amber Mills who recorded the visitors lone hit in the match-up as she went 1-for-3 on the day. 
  • Jordan Haya added a steal to her overall stat line as well in this first game of the afternoon as well. 

The K Zone
  • Getting the start in game one for the black-and-red was Madison Garza who was able to pitch 5.1 total innings and only allowing one earned run and struck out two batters. 
  • Karly Murray would come in on short relieft to throw the final 0.2 innings giving up zero hits and zero runs. 

Game Changer
  • The biggest difference maker in this first match-up of the day was the overall hits totals for each team with the Blossoms being able to record four compared to Northwestern's one. 
  • The Rangers defensive played a role in this contest as well with the black-and-red committing three total errors in the game.

MONTICELLO, ARK. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated in the final game of the series to the Blossoms of Arkansas-Monticello by a final score of 5-0.

At The Dish
The K Zone
  • Erin Norrie started in the circle for the Rangers in game two and threw 3.0 total innings allowing only two earned runs, two hits, and struck out one. 
  • Madison Garza and Karly Murray combined to throw 3.0 innings in relief also. 
     

Game Changer
  • The biggest stat in this game between these two squads was that each left six total runners on base but Arkansas-Monticello was able to bring in five total runs to claim the victory in the end. 
     


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball next will take on GAC opponent Southern Arkansas in a four game series beginning Friday March 11 in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at the Alva Rec Complex in Alva, Okla.
