ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball won the opening series game against Great American Conference foe Ouachita Baptist on the road by a final score of 5-2.


At The Dish
  • Leading the black-and-red at the plate in game one was Jordan Haya who went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, one RBI, one double, one stolen base, and was able to draw two walks. 
  • Stephanie Couser provided a solid effort as well on offense going 2-for-4 with one RBI. 
  • Peyton Garrett also had a huge double for the Ranger offense and recorded two RBIs as well. 
     
The K Zone
  • Madison Garza started in the circle for Northwestern as she went on to throw a complete game of 7.0 innings only allowing two earned runs on seven hits, and struck out two. 
     

Game Changer
  • The biggest difference maker in this contest came from Garrett who roped a double down the right field line to bring in two runs for Northwestern, pushing the visiting lead out to 5-0 at that point.
  • Northwestern recorded a solid day defensively as well recording zero errors in the contest compared to Ouachita Baptist's one.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball swept the day against the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist defeating their conference opponent by a score of 4-1 on the road. 



At The Dish
  •  Jordan Haya provided more offensive success for the Rangers as she finished game two hitting 2-for-4 with two RBIs, one run scored, one stolen base and one homerun.
  •  Alexis Hayes had a solid performance as well in game two going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
  • Stephanie Couser was able to record the other Northwestern RBI as she finished the match-up going 1-for-3 also.
     
The K Zone
  • Karly Murray started game two in the circle for Northwestern and threw 6.0 total innings only allowing two hits, one earned run and recorded four strikeouts. 
  • Madison Garza would come on in relief to pitch the final inning of play as she went 1-2-3 against Ouachita to earn her first save of the season. 

     
Game Changer
  • The stat that stands out the most in this second match-up was the total hits column with the Rangers tallying 10 total compared to Ouachita's two hits. 
  • Hayes' single to shortstop also provided the go ahead run for the black-and-red as Sarah Williams was able to score on the base knock to give Northwestern the 2-1 lead and the momentum to seal off the game in the end. 
     


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will face off against GAC opponent Ouachita Baptist in the series conclusion in a doubleheader, Saturday April 2, with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Ark.
