Harding Sweeps Series Against Rangers

Leading Off - Game One
Score: Harding 7 - Northwestern 0
Records: HU (30-21, 22-17 GAC) - NW (10-37, 8-29 GAC)
Location: Alva Rec Complex - Alva, Okla.

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was defeated by Great American Conference opponent Harding University Saturday afternoon by a final score of 7-0. 


At The Dish


The K Zone
  • Madison Garza began in the circle for game one against the Bisons as she threw 3.2 total innings, allowing six earned runs on 11 total hits and recorded two strikeouts. 
  • Brittany Olender provided 1.1 innings of relief giving up zero runs on one hit. Erin Norrie came on to throw 2.0 innings as well to finish off the contest. 
     

Game Changer
  • The biggest difference maker in this match-up was the the total hits column in the stat sheet as Harding recorded 14 against the black-and-red and Northwestern only produced three hits overall.

ALVA, Okla. - Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball was taken down in the final game of the series against Harding University Saturday afternoon by the final score of 12-2. 



At The Dish
  • Madison McGraw added a surge to the Ranger offensive this afternoon with a homerun blast that easily cleared the left field wall. McGraw finished the day going 1-for-3 as well and added one run scored and two RBIs to her stat line. 
  • Jordan Haya, Stephanie Couser, and Amber Mills contributed one hit a piece as well to the black-and-red offensive unit. 

     
The K Zone
  • Brittany Olender started in the circle for the Rangers and pitched a total of 5.1 innings allowing three earned runs, seven hits, and was able to strikeout six Bisons. 
  • Madison Garza, Erin Norrie, and Karly Murray all combined to provide the final 1.2 innings in relief in the match-up as well. 

     
Game Changer
  • The offensive of HU continued to show their power as they were able to out hit the Rangers 10-4 in this second of two contests. 
  • Despite only trailing by two runs to the Bisons in the fifth inning after the McGraw homerun cut the visitors lead in half, Harding went on a tear in the final two innings scoring eight runs to give them the 12-2 victory. 

     


On Deck
Northwestern Oklahoma State Softball will hit the road and travel to Russellville, Ark. as they will square off against GAC foe Arkansas Tech in a four game series beginning Friday April 22 with the first of two doubleheaders starting at 3 PM.
