Wayne Glasgow came to Northwestern after an all-state basketball career at Dacoma High School. Playing for the Rangers during the 1946-47 season, he was named to the All-Oklahoma Collegiate Conference team. He transferred to the University of Oklahoma and twice was named to All-Big 7. After graduation in 1950, Glasgow was drafted by the NBA’s Minneapolis Lakers, but instead accepted employment with Phillips Petroleum and joined the famed Phillips 66ers AAU team, playing with them for four seasons. In 1952, he was selected as a member of the U.S. Olympic basketball team that won the gold medal at the Helsinki Games. He retired from Phillips in 1985 as manager of North American Crude Oil Supply. He lives in Bartlesville.
